I’d like to let you know about a new meetup I started recently – Tooling for Software Development. There are user groups and even entire conferences organized by vendors of software development tools, which perfectly promote visions of these vendors. However I failed to find a place where strong and weak sides of these products, their applicability for certain methodologies of development are discussed independently from vendors. Creation of such place is the idea behind this meetup.
On Monday evening, June 27 we’ll be meeting for the first time at Pllek in Amsterdam Noord, just across Ij from CS. If you are curious about this, you are more than welcome to join. As this is the first meeting, we’ll get to know each other and I’d suggest to throw names of tools and vendors on a table, to attempt to create a classification scheme. Maybe participants can share their favorite tool sets.
